About Savage MN Real Estate

With its picturesque setting, strong local economy, and variety of attractive residential areas, this community offers a high standard of living. As one of the area's oldest cities, Savage, Minnesota has a full range of amenities and services, and a rich community history. Transportation and trade along the Minnesota River helped develop Savage into a busy port town in the 1850s. The local settlement was originally known as Hamilton, after Hamilton Landing, which serviced the community's shipping traffic. In 1904, residents renamed the community Savage, after a local livestock feed company owner who brought the town international fame as the home of the championship racehorse, Dan Patch.
