You've heard it said about most cities in America, but Chanhassen real estate really does have a small-town kind of charm, and its neighborhoods really are quaint.

The name Chanhassen derives from a Dakota word meaning tree with sweet sap, referring to the sugar maple tree.

With eleven clean lakes and 418 acres of parks just outside of the shadow of the Twin Cities, Chanhassen real estate will always be a commodity in the greater metro market. In this city of 23,889 there is a healthy business community, kept fresh and variegated by the thousands of people who visit here for the Chanhassen Dinner Theater and the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.

Most of Chanhassen is located within Carver County, but there are 154 acres in Hennepin County, too.

The Chanhassen real estate market has been in the spotlight for as long as I've been a realtor. In the nineties there was huge growth, with the population almost doubling, from 11,000 to 20,000. And in the last 12 years, the City has added 3,000,000 sq ft of commercial/industrial space, broadening the scope of Chanhassen's economy and making it a little more independent for the twenty-first century.

A defining characteristic of the Chanhassen homes situation is amazing diversity. There are multi-million dollar luxury properties for sale, but the townhouse and condo selection is also extensive.
